Addressing the Planning and Regulatory Services Committee

If you would like to address the Planning and Regulatory Services Committee in relation to a planning application, you are required to provide written notification to Democratic Services no later than 12 noon two (2) working days before the Committee meeting.

Within your written request, you should confirm:

  • Your name;
  • The reference number of the application you wish to speak on; and
  • Whether you are in support of, or objecting to, the Officer’s recommendation.

Requests should be emailed to:

Bank Holiday Arrangements

Where the closing date for speaking rights falls on a Bank Holiday, all requests must still be received within the specified timescale and will be processed on the following working day.

Speaking Rights

As set out within the Planning Protocol, representations may only be made on one occasion on a planning application.  If a planning application is deferred for any reason further representations will not be permitted to be made on that application when the application is returned to the Planning and Regulatory Services Committee.  A copy of the Planning Protocol can be found above

Attending the Meeting

Members of the public may view Planning and Regulatory Services Committee meetings on YouTube.  Anyone wishing to address the Committee will be invited to participate either in person or remotely.

Attending in Person

If you wish to participate in person, you will be required to attend the meeting at Craigavon Civic Centre.

You should arrive at the conference entrance (located to the right-hand side of the main reception when facing the building) to Craigavon Civic Centre, 15 minutes before the start of the consideration of the Schedule of Planning Applications (i.e. 3.45 pm).

If you arrive late, this will mean you lose your opportunity to address the Committee.

Attending Remotely

If you wish to participate remotely, it is imperative that you have a device on which you can do so.  You will receive an email with a link to join the meeting remotely on the day of the meeting and further details about remote attendance prior to the meeting.

Accessibility Requirements

If you have any specific requirements or require assistance to participate in a meeting, please contact Ruth at Democratic Services at least two working days prior to the meeting and we will try to accommodate your needs.
