We are responsible for a number of community centres and town halls in the borough. These facilities exist to provide for the social, recreational and sporting needs of the community. They provide the space for a broad range of community initiatives, including healthy living programmes, senior citizens groups, pre-school play groups; which enables the community sector to prioritise service provision and community development.

Ashgrove Community Centre provides a vibrant, friendly and modern meeting place capable of catering for a varied range of groups and individuals within the local community, including all ages and abilities. Within the centre you will find friendly customer focused staff available to assist and meet user’s needs and requirements in a professional and helpful manner. The centre has pre-school facilities, a main hall, toilets, up to date kitchen facilities, meeting room and externally a play park.

We also offer a birthday party package for £65 for 2 hours which includes exclusive use of the on-site bouncy castle in the main hall for an hour, with the second hour allocated to a separate room for food and drinks available for up to 12 children. Also included is full use of the kitchen facilities and music system.

 

We offer a range of programmes which are open to everyone of all ages such as Cook-It, Weigh to Health, Computers, Sports, Keep Fit, Dance, Literacy and Numeracy skills.  Please contact the centre on 028 3833 1650 for further details.

Open all year round with the exception of Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s day. Banbridge Visitor Information Centre opens daily Monday to Friday: 9am-5pm and Saturday: 10am-4pm,  during which you can avail of valuable, professional travel advice whether you are heading north or south.

With information on top attractions and activities throughout Northern Ireland, the Visitor Centre is the ideal place to visit if you want to explore any part of Northern Ireland.

Crafts and Gifts

The Visitor Centre also sells an array of locally made craft and also stocks a good selection of maps, walking routes and books of local interest.

Genealogy Service

If you would like to trace your roots, then you can get in touch with the Genealogy and Heritage Officer who can offer advice on how to go about researching family history. All appointments can be made through the Visitor Information Centre on the number provided below.

Local Tours
The Centre can customise a tour of the local area to suit your needs. So why not get in touch when you are planning your annual group outing. Experienced tour guides will be available to make that tailor-made trip all the more interesting and informative.

Bleary Business & Community Centre is managed by the Economic Development Department. The centre fits with Economic Developments number one priority of growing the economy by providing shared office space for small businesses and provision for community activity, workshops, training and events. We encourage and support entrepreneurs to rent space to set up and grow their business by offering affordable packages to suit the needs of each business.  The office, desk and workshop space is available for rent in a series of flexible options from hourly room hire to permanent fulltime and hot desks.

  • Bleary Suite – meeting room to seat 50 people theatre style or 20-25 board room style. 60” flat smart screen TV with HDMI connectivity. Rented hourly for workshops, events and meetings.
  • Deans Suite – Business rental for 4 people. Desk rental in a shared space

Whether you are attending one of our groups, activities or are hiring the premises for an important function or corporate event, the Brownlow Community Hub guarantees you a warm, personal and professional service in a modern and diverse setting.

Brownlow Community Hub offers a wide range of diverse rooms that can be set-up to accommodate any function or event. All of the rooms are WiFi enabled. The Hub also offers a Changing Places accessible toilet facility. Hospitality can be ordered for any activities or training within the Hub.

Main Hall
2 court hall seating 300 people max, PA System, data projector & electronic screen, acoustic ceiling panelling. Available for activity classes e.g. circuit training, kickboxing, badminton etc and larger meetings, conferences and functions.

Lounge
Seats 40 people max, carpeted room with fixed projection screen, suitable for meetings, training events and Yoga/Pilates type activities.

Worktops around the outskirts of room, washable hardwearing floor, 20+ plugs and computer points, suitable for training, computer courses, arts and crafts activities.

Kitchen
12 hobs, 2 large double ovens, fridge, freezer and utensils, available to hire as a training space for cooking / health & hygiene courses.

Studio
Seats 75 people max, accommodates 12-15 in an activity class, mirrored room with hard wood floor, soundproofed and acoustically panelled, ideal for dance and drama classes, music events and functions.

Meeting Rooms
Four different sized rooms available which can accommodate between 2 and 20 people. Carpeted, flexible layout to suit the activity; meetings, interviews, classes and counselling etc.

Servery
Located on the first floor, for refreshments before, during or after the activity.

Child Care Space
Purpose built, includes medium hall, kitchen, laundry, toilets and a covered outdoor play area.

Play Park
Free to access, with a range of play equipment for children of all ages.

Birthday Party Packages

Weekend Birthday Party Packages (Primary School Age) available Saturdays 2pm – 4pm or Sundays 4pm – 6pm.  Includes use of Bouncy Castle in Main Hall for first hour and 2nd hour in Training & Craft Room or Studio and Kitchen for £65.00.  OR rooms available for Birthday Parties daily without bouncy castle.

THE LAKEVIEW SUITE
The Lakeview Suite boasts stunning views over Craigavon Lakes and is the perfect setting for a private function or conference. The suite is also perfect for a small wedding reception.

WJ MAYES HALL
The octagonal Civic Hall with its pyramidal timber panelled ceiling provides a magnificent auditorium for concerts or shows and an impressive banqueting suite for major functions and offers seating capacity for up to 520 and fully-equipped with a comprehensive lighting, curtaining and sound system.

THE LOUNGE

Dobbin Street Community Centre hosts a wide range of local community group and club meetings and activities incl. classes in gardening, yoga, set dancing, music, mindfulness, sport and fitness, and health support groups for mental health, cancer, head injury, diabetes, talking newspaper, etc.   To make a booking contact the Community Centre on the number above.

Opening Hours vary during the week depending on centre bookings.  Contact the Community Centre for more information. The Centre also opens for evening bookings.  The centre closes on public holidays.

Parking Facilities
Limited parking is available for Community Centre users only.  There are four Blue Badge Spaces for community centre users only.  The centre is extremely busy with user bookings and centre users must remove their vehicles from the car park after centre business is completed.  Vehicles are subject to being locked in until the next time the centre opens, if left in the car park.    There is also public parking located opposite the community centre on Linenhall Street – pay and display parking charges apply.

Situated in the centre of Dromore Square, Dromore Town Hall is the perfect venue to host a variety of events and activities. Dromore library is situated on the 1st floor whilst the ground floor consists of a community room, kitchen and toilets. The Community Room is available to hire at a cost of £20.40 for 2 hours. The centre has pre-school facilities, a revamped main hall, new toilets, up to date kitchen facilities and meeting rooms. Externally, work has been completed to include a new relocated play park, a multi-use games area (MUGA), landscaped gardening and car parking.

We also offer a birthday party package for £65 for 2 hours, which includes exclusive use of the on-site bouncy castle in the main hall for an hour, with the second hour allocated to a separate room for food and drinks available for up to 25 children. Also included is full use of the kitchen facilities and music system.

The Multi Use Games Area is free for all to use. Located in the centre of Lurgan Town Centre, the Town Hall has facilities for hire to meet the needs of a range of groups in the community, especially performances such as concerts, musicals, dance shows and plays. It is also popular for various classes, private functions, exhibition space and events.

Auditorium/Stage
Large function room with a stage, suitable for a range of performances, meetings, private functions and activities.  Can seat audiences up to 250, or 100 at tables.

Small room suitable for meetings up to 15 people, counselling sessions, small dance classes & educational classes.

Situated in the heart of North Lurgan, the centre provides a quality service to all residents in the surrounding area. It is a popular venue for children’s birthday parties and various social events. Sensory Garden.

The sensory garden includes an outdoor classroom with half walls, decking, seating, an all-weather play area, a playhouse with planters, a sandbox with sliding lid, storytelling chair, sensory totem poles and finger maze, an active garden with raised planters, compost cottage, an arch bridge, rain-wheel and various other items of play/outdoor activity equipment.

Situated on Edward Street in the heart of Portadown, the Town Hall is renowned for its Georgian grandeur, character, and distinction. The Town Hall can be hired for a wide range of private, corporate, fundraising or entertainment events, providing you with an excellent service, competitive rates and an impressive backdrop for all events.

The Town Hall is a perfect venue for amateur and professional theatre, weddings, conferences and group meetings.  The auditorium is popular with local drama and theatre groups and has production equipment to ensure a dazzling performance.

Taghnevan Youth and Community Centre is situated at Glenholme Park, Taghnevan.  It is the centre of the community, providing activities and facilities for residents and the wider Craigavon area.

There is a Multi-Use Games Area on site and free for all to use.  The MUGA is a top class facility offering the community a wide range of activities including tennis, football, Gaelic and basketball, to name but a few.  Please contact Paul Carville (MUGA Co-ordinator) on 07515 607459 if you wish to book this space.

Along with Taghnevan Community Development Association, we offer a range of free courses and programmes annually.  Please contact the centre on 028 3832 4989 or follow ‘Taghnevan Community Development Association’ on Facebook.

We work alongside TCDA, supporting their running of Taghnevan Allotments, which consists of 33 plots used by members of the public.  For more information on these, please phone the centre.

The Centre can cater for all types of activities, training / education projects, functions and events for all ages and abilities. All rooms are fully accessible.  We have a car park on site.  We also have baby changing facilities.

The TMAC centre operates Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 10pm, 9 am to 2pm on Saturdays and open for bookings on Sundays.

There are a range of activities offered in the centre from Yoga, Pilates, Martial Arts, Gymnastics and Ballet.

Indoor Bowling is a big hit on a Monday and Thursday night and we host our regular Whist players on a Tuesday evening.

The local Community band meet every Tuesday for band practice along with the local youth group and scouts groups.

Weightwatchers is another constant booking every Monday evening at 6pm.

TMAC is also home to the Keady Preschool and Afterschools club Monday to Friday.

The TMAC Main hall, which can seat up to 200 people and the Mill Dance Studio, which can accommodate up to 60 people, can be hired at a very reasonable rate. We also have 3 meeting spaces available for hire.
