Community Planning

What is Community Planning?
Community planning is a new responsibility for all local authorities in Northern Ireland where councils are required to take a lead in developing a Community Plan for their area with partners.

Community planning focuses on promoting positive outcomes for everyone within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough.  It is about bringing decision making closer to communities and giving local people an opportunity to have their say on issues that matter to them.  It is an exciting time for us and by working together we can explore new, innovative and creative ways to deliver public services that will make a positive impact and bring about real change to help improve the wellbeing of the borough and the quality of life for the people here.

We have led on the community planning process for our borough and have worked collaboratively with a wide range of partners and residents including representatives from statutory, business, education, health, community and voluntary sectors to develop our first plan.

Who is involved in Community Planning?
Community Planning Partners are fully committed to working together with all our citizens for collaborative gain to ensure we create a better future for everyone.
