The continued success of the partnership also reflects the shared commitment to cultural exchange, community connections, friendship and mutual understanding.

Formally welcoming the delegation at a civic lunch reception, Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Jessica Johnston said: “It is our great pleasure to once again welcome our friends from Ruelle sur Touvre to Banbridge. These visits strengthen international linkages, promote cultural understanding and create lasting friendships between our communities. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both twinning associations.”

During their stay, the seventeen-member delegation, hosted by Banbridge Twinning Association, enjoyed a programme of activities, including local tours, cultural experiences and opportunities to experience the renowned hospitality of the area.

The Chairperson of Banbridge Twinning Association, William Stewart, also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining and developing the partnership, noting the importance of continued exchanges and active community involvement. The association encourages residents to engage with future twinning activities in Banbridge to help sustain this valued international linkage.

As both towns look to the future, the partnership remains a vibrant and meaningful bridge between the two places.
