The 80th Anniversary of VJ Day or Victory Over Japan was commemorated across the Borough on Friday 15th August 2025 with various events taking place.
The Lord Mayor, Alderman Stephen Moutray, accompanied by Alderman Paul Greenfield, Councillor Kyle Savage, Cllr Kate Evans and Cllr Peter Haire along with MP Carla Lockhart, Jonathan Buckley MLA and Doug Beattie MLA, joined with the Members of the Lurgan Brownlow Branch of the Royal British Legion at Lurgan War Memorial for their commemoration event.
