Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough (ABC) Council is calling on residents to share their views on a new Age Friendly Strategy and three-year Action Plan for the area.

Led by the ABC Age Friendly Alliance – comprising of representatives from council, key stakeholders and older people – the strategy and action plan will work to ensure all residents in the borough can live in security, enjoy good health, continue to participate fully in society, and feel valued and respected – regardless of age.

Residents can have their say on key outcomes within the new strategy and action plan by completing a short online or paper-based survey, or by taking part in a local focus group.

Inviting local residents to share their feedback on the borough’s new Age Friendly Strategy and three-year Action Plan, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Glenn Barr said:

“As a council we are committed to helping support the development of an age friendly borough, where older people can live full, active, valued and healthy lives, which is why we are delighted to help drive this important strategy and action plan as well as the work of our local Age Friendly Alliance.

“I would call on all local people with an interest in this area to share your feedback by completing our short questionnaire.”

The ABC Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan has been developed following extensive consultation with people aged 50 and over living in the borough of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, and aims to benefit everyone living, working and visiting the area as they grow older.

Now open, the Age Friendly Strategy and three-year Action Plan survey will close at 23.59 on Friday 15 July 2022.
