Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is celebrating the success of its Food Heartland producers who showcased the very best of local food and drink at this year’s Lurgan Show.
The Food Heartland stand featured a selection of award-winning local producers including Burren Balsamics Vinegars, Long Meadow Cider, Jackson Roze, Appletree Farm, Richmount Health Foods, and Ballydown Milk. Visitors had the opportunity to meet the producers, sample their products, and learn more about the high-quality food and drink being created across the borough.
The Lord Mayor and senior council representatives visited Food Heartland stand during the show, as well as spending time meeting a range of livestock exhibitors, gaining a first-hand insight into both the borough’s thriving agri-food sector and its strong agricultural heritage.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Councillor Mary O’Dowd, said:
“It was a pleasure to attend Lurgan Show and meet so many of our outstanding local producers and livestock exhibitors. From businesses like Appletree Farm, Richmount Health Foods and Ballydown Milk, to those showcasing the very best in cattle, sheep and poultry, the event truly highlights the strength, diversity and pride within our rural and food communities.
It was also a fantastic day out for all the family, with something for everyone to enjoy. Opportunities like this allow us to celebrate the people and produce that make our borough a special place and continue to build our reputation as a leading food and agriculture destination.”
ABC Council remains committed to supporting local producers through initiatives such as Food Heartland, helping businesses grow while promoting the borough as a premier destination for food tourism.
