PUBLIC NOTICE COUNTY PROCLAMATIONS

County Armagh and Down Proclamations will take place on Sunday 11th September.

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of King Charles III, County Proclamations will be held on Sunday 11th September 2022 at the following locations:

County Armagh
1600hrs, The Palace Demesne, Armagh

County Down
1500hrs, The Castle, Bangor

The public is welcome to attend either County Proclamation.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Paul Greenfield will commence proceedings at The Palace Demesne, Armagh and County Sherriff Henry McMullen will read the Proclamation.

A Special Meeting of Council will be held on Sunday 11th September at 6.30pm, to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  To watch the meeting live click here: https://www.armaghbanbridgecraigavon.gov.uk/livecouncilmeeting/

Guidance has been issued for people who want to leave flowers as a mark of respect. For members of the public who wish to lay flowers as a mark of their respect, it is advised these can be left adjacent to the flags at the following locations:

  • The Palace, Armagh
  • Banbridge Civic Building
  • Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre

It is advised to remove plastic wrapping from flowers as they will be composted at the end of their natural life.
