New Programme launched to support local businesses

ABC Council’s Transform Your Business Programme was officially launched yesterday, 27th September, by Lord Mayor, Alderman Margaret Tinsley in Lurgan Town Hall in front of 25 local micro and SME’s in attendance.

The businesses represented a range of important business growth sectors in the borough including Agri-food, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, Construction, and Logistics,

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Margaret Tinsley said:

“I was delighted to be able to launch the new Transform Your Business Programme in Lurgan yesterday. It is important that as a Council, we support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to reach their full potential, unlock innovation and drive inclusive growth. It was great to see so many businesses avail of this opportunity and I encourage other businesses across the borough to seek this support.”

The programme offers support to over 50 businesses across a range of important business skills such as business planning, brand development and PR, getting online and social media presence, product development, innovation and commercialization, sales development, sourcing finance and financial planning, exporting and identifying new markets.

Each business involved will get one-to-one mentoring complemented by several business workshops. The mentoring is provided by industry specialists and offers up to 21 hours of one-to-one support to address any business challenge and importantly grasp new opportunities.

Rebecca Taylor, Principal Consultant with Core Growth who are the delivery partner for the programme said:

“Core Growth are excited to be launching the Transform Your Business Programme with ABC Council. We will be working closely with the wide range of participating companies through workshop and one-to-one mentoring support to deliver a best practice model that will make a significant impact on their capacity and capability to grow.”

If you think that your business would benefit from this programme, you must be eligible by meeting the following criteria – your business must be based in the ABC Borough, employ less than 50 people and not be participating in another Invest NI programme.
