Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council proudly marked the successful conclusion of its recent female entrepreneurship initiative, Spark It ABC, with a vibrant celebration event held at The Palace Demesne, Armagh.
Over four months, Spark It ABC empowered women across the borough through a series of in-person masterclasses, interactive workshops, and online mentoring sessions, designed to ignite entrepreneurial thinking and build confidence. Delivered in partnership with Women in Business NI, the programme supported participants in exploring new business ideas or strengthening fledgling ventures.

The celebration event brought together programme participants and mentors for an afternoon of inspiration and networking. Attendees enjoyed mini pitch-style presentations, where participants showcased their business concepts and reflected on their journey through Spark It ABC. Prizes were awarded to recognise outstanding innovation, growth potential, and commitment throughout the programme.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Jessica Johnston, praised the achievements of the participants: “Spark It ABC has demonstrated the incredible talent and ambition of women across our borough. This programme is about unlocking potential, providing practical support, and inspiring confidence to take that first step into business. This celebration event is a testament to what can be achieved when opportunity and determination come together.”

Funded by Council, Spark It ABC reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to inclusive economic development and fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. By combining expert-led sessions, mentoring, and peer support, the initiative has created a strong foundation for women ready to turn ideas into reality.
