
Armagh’s much-loved Georgian Festival is back this November officially launching Northern Ireland’s festive season. Thanks to an exciting partnership with Translink, visitors will benefit from expanded travel options to make attending the festival easier than ever before.
Armagh Georgian Festival runs for four days from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th November, with its centrepiece, Georgian Day, taking place on Saturday 29th November. On Georgian Day, free shuttle buses will run throughout the day from Portadown Train Station to Armagh, offering seamless access to the popular celebration. While convenient Translink connections from Belfast and Dublin to Portadown will allow visitors from across the region and beyond to experience the magic of Georgian Day.
Free Park & Ride services will also operate to and from Armagh, with pick-up points in Portadown, Richhill, Markethill, Navan Centre & Fort, Killylea, Armagh Baptist Church, Armagh Elim Church and Armagh Palace Demesne. There will be no on-street city centre parking during the festival, and several car parks will be closed or restricted during the celebrations.
With many events free to attend, Armagh is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors to this much-loved event. Featuring over 100 artisan stalls, live street music, costumed performers, traditional chestnut sellers, and a host of children’s entertainment. On The Mall, families can enjoy festive funfair rides while nearby, Vicars’ Hill and Armagh Robinson Library will open their doors, offering rare access to the historic 1771 library and Registry. A number of ticketed events are also on offer, including a range of guided tours and the popular mock trial at Armagh Courthouse.
The festival’s grand finale is the acclaimed Light Show — Step into Christmas, a magical Christmas animation projected onto Market House, featuring dazzling visuals and special effects. (Tickets essential.)

For those travelling from outside the local area on Saturday 29th November, Translink offers a Family and Friends ticket for just £24, allowing unlimited day travel on all bus and rail services within Northern Ireland for up to two adults and four children.
