The exciting new programme of events for Christmas 2023 has been unveiled today, Thursday, 9 November, making it the ultimate destination for the holiday season.

Speaking at the launch of the Christmas campaign Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Alderman Margaret Tinsley said:

“The Council’s Christmas campaign ‘Christmas Comes Alive’ strives to bolster community spirit and support local businesses, by championing the vibrancy of the holiday season in our city, towns and villages. Given the significant challenges faced by businesses this year, and the recent flooding events, the Council aims to celebrate and uplift the resilience of our community by urging people to shop, dine, visit and enjoy all that the Borough has to offer this Christmas.

“Free parking will be available in all Council-owned off-street car parks throughout our Town Centres on specified dates to bring some Christmas cheer, encouraging visitors and shoppers to support our local businesses at this important time of year.”

The Christmas spirit will be coming alive across the Borough in rural towns, villages and communities too. There will be a number of Light Switch Ons and Festive Celebrations in smaller settlements to help spread Christmas sparkle far and wide! These events, organised in collaboration with local community groups promise to be delightful Christmas festivities for the entire family to treasure.

The magical Relaxed Christmas events will return to Bleary Community Centre, throughout the first two weekends in December – Friday, 1 December to Sunday 3 December, and Friday, 8 December to Sunday, 10 December. These events provide children with autism and Special Educational Needs the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs Claus in a calm and supportive environment
