Local communities are being invited to view and provide feedback on new design concepts for the redevelopment of Mourneview and North Lurgan Community Centres.
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is inviting residents, community groups and users of the facilities to come along and have their say on the emerging designs for the two major community facility projects.
A £2.5 million investment is being made in community infrastructure in the Lurgan area, which will see the full rebuild of Mourneview Community Centre and the refurbishment and extension of North Lurgan Community Centre.
The projects are being developed to provide modern, fit-for-purpose and accessible facilities to support local communities, services, programmes and activities for many years to come.
Following the appointment of Collins-Rolston as the Independent Design Team, work is now progressing through the design development stage, with the latest concepts ready to be shared with the local community.
Two public engagement events will take place, giving local people an opportunity to view the designs, speak with members of the project team and provide feedback.

Mourneview Community Centre
From 4pm to 7pm
People are welcome to drop in at any time during the events.
Following the engagement events, the new plans will also be available to view at Lurgan Town Hall, providing an additional opportunity for people to see the proposals and provide feedback.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Councillor Mary O’Dowd, said:
“This £2.5 million investment represents a significant commitment to the future of community provision in Lurgan, and I am delighted that we have now reached the stage where we can share the emerging designs with local people.
“Our community centres play an important role in supporting local communities, providing spaces for connection, learning and activities for all ages.
“It is important that the people who use these facilities and live in the surrounding communities have an opportunity to see the designs, ask questions and provide their feedback as the plans develop.
“I would encourage everyone with an interest in the future of these facilities to come along to one of the engagement events, take a look at the proposals and have their say.”
The projects were approved by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council in December 2024 as part of its commitment to strengthening community infrastructure and supporting the delivery of local services, programmes and activities. A dedicated Project Board has also been established to oversee the progression of both projects and ensure effective planning, delivery and stakeholder engagement.
The current project programme anticipates project planning and design development, including site investigations, concept design and planning submission, during 2026–27, followed by planning approval, technical design and procurement before construction gets underway. Completion and handover of the new and improved facilities is anticipated during 2028–29.
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council will consider the feedback received through this engagement as the designs continue to develop.
