Armagh Food and Cider Weekend returns from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September, bringing four days of food, drink and unique experiences that celebrate the rich orchard heritage of our borough and the people who make it so special.

The annual festival will showcase the very best of local food, drink and hospitality, with more than 40 events taking place across the borough. The packed programme, inspired by the county’s world-famous PGI-status Bramley Apple, will offer something for everyone. Residents and visitors can enjoy a diverse range of experiences, from artisan markets and live food demonstrations to exceptional dining experiences, tastings, orchard tours and family-friendly events.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Alderman Lavelle McIlwrath said:

“Armagh Food and Cider Weekend is a celebration of everything that makes this region so special – our people, our produce, our hospitality and our proud orchard heritage. The Bramley apple has shaped the identity of this place for generations and remains at the heart of our food and drink story today.

“The festival provides a fantastic opportunity for local people and visitors alike to come together and enjoy some of the outstanding food and drink experiences available across our borough. It is a chance to celebrate the businesses, growers, producers and hospitality providers who continue to contribute to our reputation as a leading food destination.”

The weekend will feature a lively programme of demonstrations, tastings and markets, including the Artisan Street Market in Armagh City Centre on Saturday 5 September from 12 noon to 5pm, where some of the finest artisan food producers will showcase their local produce. Visitors can browse the outdoor market while enjoying live music and family entertainment throughout the afternoon. The celebrations will continue into the evening with Cider in the City at Shambles Yard from 4pm to 9pm, featuring a mix of cider, music and artisan street food and live music. The Sundown Market at Solitude Park, Banbridge will have a range of masterclasses throughout the weekend exploring everything from cocktail making and cider tasting to nutritious cooking using local produce.

Further highlights include events at Crannagael House, Murder Myster with Armagh Cider Company, The Woodland Supper at On the Hoof and cooking over fire at The Old Gamekeepers House, together with a wide range of other local events throughout the programme.

Whether you’re a passionate foodie, a cider enthusiast, looking for a family day out or simply keen to celebrate local produce, Armagh Food and Cider Weekend offers something for everyone.
