Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched a brand-new female entrepreneurship initiative, Spark It ABC, aimed at supporting women across the borough who are ready to take their first steps into the world of business.
Funded by the council and delivered in partnership with Women in Business NI, the programme is now open for applications and will support up to 25 women who are exploring the idea of becoming an entrepreneur or who have started a business within the last six months.
Designed to ignite entrepreneurial thinking, Spark It ABC will combine in-person events across the borough with engaging online workshops, mentoring, and inspiration from established female business ambassadors. Whether participants are developing an early-stage idea or looking for direction with a fledgling business, the programme offers practical support, confidence building and the opportunity to connect with like-minded women on a similar journey.
Encouraging women from all ages, backgrounds and employment statuses to apply, the programme is a key part of the council’s ongoing commitment to inclusive economic development.
Speaking about the launch, Lord Mayor Alderman Stephen Moutray said:
“We know the potential that women right across our borough have, to drive innovation, create opportunity and build thriving businesses. Spark It ABC is about helping to unlock that potential and providing the support and inspiration women need to take their first step. Whether you have an idea, or just a spark of ambition, I’d encourage you to apply and see where this journey could take you.”
