The South Lake Junior Triathlon is back for summer 2025, taking place at Craigavon Lakes on Sunday 24 August!
Organised by Down Triathlon Club in association with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, this Youth National Series event for children and young people aged 9-18 years is open for entries!
Starting with a swim, followed by a bike race along a clearly marked route and ending with a run, there will be four age categories with achievable distances to suit each age group. The categories are 9-10 years, 11-12 years, 13-14 years and 15-18 years. Numbers in each age category will be capped, and the races will also be chip timed.
Speaking at the event launch, Lord Mayor Alderman Stephen Moutray said: “I am delighted to welcome this popular event back to Craigavon Lakes and I am confident that everyone coming along to compete and show their support will enjoy their visit.
“This is a great event encouraging children and young people to test their fitness and endurance in three intensive sports. If you have a competitive young person keen on pushing themselves to their sporting limits, I encourage them to get involved!”
This event is marshalled and coordinated by Down Triathlon Club with additional support from council staff, surrounding clubs and community groups. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and medal at the finish line!
Three sports and one goal – to push your limits! Online entries close Sunday 17 August. There will be no registrations on the event day. Register online www.getactiveabc.com/events/southlaketriathlon
