Spirit of Northern Ireland Young Carer visits Lord Mayor

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Stephen Moutray congratulates 18 year old Alex Cooper from Portadown, who received a Spirit of Northern Ireland, Young Carer Award for his care of his young brother Zach, a pupil at Ceara School, Lurgan.

Alex Cooper from Richhill paid a visit to the Mayor’s Parlour, Craigavon to show the Lord Mayor, Alderman Stephen Moutray his recently won Spirit of Northern Ireland Young Carer Award.

Alex (18) helps care for his younger brother Zach who attends Ceara School in Lurgan and the Lord Mayor was delighted to congratulate him on this special award.

Also present with Alex were his parents Carol and David, along with siblings Zach, Dylan, Ollie and Maddie.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Stephen Moutray hosted Alex Cooper from Portadown, who received a Spirit of Northern Ireland, Young Carer Award and his family at a reception in Craigavon Civic Centre. They are his parents, Carol and David, brothers, Dylan, Ollie, Zach and sister Maddie. Included is Councillor Julie Flaherty who proposed the reception.
