Lough Neagh Discovery Centre was the venue for the second ‘Keep Safe, Keep Well’ event for older people within our borough – and around 100 residents attended to find out more about looking after their personal safety and wellbeing.

Organised by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Policing and Community Safety Partnership (ABC PCSP), the event gave participants the opportunity to hear about support available to them, volunteering opportunities, fire safety, road safety, crime prevention and scams.

Participants were also able to take part in a chair-based exercise session before being treated to an amusing sketch, addressing road safety in an engaging and creative way!

“This second event of our series was another fantastic success,” commented Gilbert Lee, Vice Chair of ABC PCSP.

“Feedback from those attending was overwhelmingly positive, with participants saying that the things they learned on the day will really make a difference to their health and wellbeing – and this is exactly why these events are so important!”

The event also featured information stands on key service areas that affect older people and speakers from key public and voluntary sector organising offering vital advice for the over 60s.
