On Saturday 9th August 2025, Portadown People’s Park was transformed into a lively hub as families from across the community came out to enjoy a free Family Fun Day. With the sun shining and smiles all around, the event proved a massive success, bringing people together and a wonderful opportunity to connect with neighbours and friends.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Jessica Johnston commented on the events success:

“What an incredible day we’ve had! It was heartwarming to see so many families enjoying themselves and celebrating community spirit. Events like this demonstrate the power of connection and inclusion. Thank you for everyone who attended and made the day such a success.”

This initiative was supported through The Executive Office District Council Good Relations Programme.

The theme for Good Relations Week 2025, (13th to 19th October), is ‘Connect’– recognising that the foundation of a better community is built on People, Planet, and Prosperity, all connected by the goal of Peace.
