Food of the Borough Tour

Our Borough has arguably the most fertile agricultural land in Northern Ireland and is home to a wonderful array of world renowned, award winning food and drink products. Thanks to the lush green pastures and drumlins there is a superb selection of dairy products, beef, pork, poultry bread, compotes, balsamic vinegars, locally pressed oils, pastries etc.
We are home to the breathtaking Apple Orchards with their PGI status Bramley apples and an award winning range of locally produced apple juice and craft ciders containing no preservatives. We are bordering the shores of Lough Neagh so have easy access to another PGI status product, the distinctive Lough Neagh Eel.
In 2018 the area was awarded 4th top foodie destination on the island of Ireland and no wonder because of the vast selection of award winning artisan products which have been enjoyed in Borough Market, London, mainland Europe and beyond. The growers and producers have a fantastic relationship, they are committed to sustainability and to promoting the products far and wide – we don’t want to keep these products a secret.
This 6 hour tour, costing £50.00 per person will give visitors the opportunity to come along and savour everything we have to offer. Led by Donna Fox, a highly experienced Tour Guide the coach tour will take in some of our Borough’s most iconic food and drink producers as well as introduce visitors to the less well-known food hero’s across our borough.
