Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Labour Market Partnership (LMP) has announced the launch of its latest series of free training and employability programmes, designed to help local people upskill, reskill, and connect with meaningful employment.
The work of the LMP is funded by the Department for Communities and Labour Market Partnerships create targeted employment action plans for council areas, allowing for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.
From construction and classroom support to health and social care, the new suite of free programmes offers practical, hands-on training and industry-recognised qualifications to boost confidence, improve employability, and open doors to new career paths.
Whether you’re thinking about a fresh start, returning to work after time away, or progressing in your current role, there’s a programme to suit every stage of your journey. Opportunities include the Construction Academy, Health & Social Care Academy, Classroom Assistant Academy, and dedicated Disability Employment and Return to Work programmes — each offering tailored support, mentoring and links to local employers.
Speaking about the launch, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Stephen Moutray, said: “These programmes are about empowering people right across our borough — giving them the tools, skills and confidence they need to take that next step in life or work. By investing in local talent and breaking down barriers to employment, we’re building stronger communities and creating real opportunities for people to thrive.”
These latest LMP programmes continue to be delivered by a range of local training providers such as Stepping Stones NI, People 1st, Southern Regional College (SRC), The Cedar Foundation, Southern Health and Social Care Trust and Clanrye Group, who are all ideally placed to meet key skills needs across the sectors.
