
Community groups across the borough are invited to attend a free ‘Steward Training’ session which will support them in running safer, more effective events.
This practical training will teach participants essential skills in managing crowds, handling emergencies and supporting team operations.
You can choose from two sessions as below:
- 5th March 2026: 6.30pm – 9.30pm in Portadown Town Hall
- 11th March 2026: 6.30pm – 9.30pm in Banbridge Enterprise Centre
Each session will cover key stewarding topics including:
- Preparing for spectator events
- Managing entry, exit, parking, traffic flow and spectator movement
- Monitoring crowds and addressing potential problems
- Supporting the team and wider organisation
- Conflict management strategies
- Responding to accidents and emergencies
This training is specifically targeted at community groups within the borough and aims to build local capacity for delivering safe and well-organised events.
