The Chief Executive Office is responsible for the delivery of services across the Council.

The office is also responsible for Democratic Services, Legal services, Information Governance, including Freedom of Information, Communications and Branding, Civil Contingencies and for managing the business of the Lord Mayor.

The Deputy Chief Executive’s Office is responsible for financial management, including accounts payable, accounts received, salaries and wages, information technology and procurement. The Directorate is responsible for all aspects of human resources, organisation development, corporate strategy development, performance and risk management, business continuity, customer relations, equality, safeguarding, community planning and registration services.

The Corporate Performance Management Office sits within the Deputy CEO, and their role is to promote, deliver and support the implementation of priority corporate, service improvement and growth programmes and projects.

Internal Audit provides an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organisation’s operations and also sits within the Deputy Chief Executive Office.
