Come along and hear about the Tak£500+ project success – and how you can get involved!

The recent Tak£500+ Participatory Budgeting Project exceeded all expectations with an incredible £76,412 allocated to 81 fantastic local community projects – and you are invited to the Evaluation and Learning Report Launch to hear more about this brilliant project before work starts on the next one!

Participatory Budgeting (PB) is where local people get to decide how public funds are used to address needs in their area – and this is the second time the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Community Planning Partnership has organised and led this project with great success!

An amazing 3,770 people voted for the projects they wanted to see receive up to £1,000 funding, and the impact these projects left on each area was remarkable. All projects were centred around the Take 5 public health message.

So how can you get involved in this?

You can become one of our partners. Tak£500+ saw eight partners coming on board and pooling funding together for the PB Fund and financial administration, while council provided the project management. By welcoming more partners, funding can be increased and more projects can be supported, with local communities reaping the benefits.

So why not come along and hear more from community planning partners in ABC about the benefits of PB and how you can get involved. You’ll also get a perspective from Scotland where PB is becoming embedded as a way of allocating public money.

The event is on Wednesday 15th November from 10.30am to noon at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP by Thursday 9th November by clicking here: https://form.jotform.com/232902416116347
