Our borough was filled with energy and flavour this past weekend as thousands of visitors flocked to enjoy one of Northern Ireland’s most beloved food celebrations—the Armagh Food and Cider Weekend, held from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 September.

The four-day celebration delivered over 40 events showcasing the region’s PGI-status Bramley Apples, award-winning hospitality, and world-class craft ciders. From immersive tasting experiences and orchard tours to hands-on workshops and vibrant street markets, the festival offered something for everyone.

Saturday’s programme was a standout highlight, drawing crowds to a packed schedule of free drop-in events. Market Street, Armagh and Solitude Park, Banbridge both hosted bustling Artisan Street Markets, where local producers, makers, and creatives shared their passion and products with visitors. Families enjoyed live music, street performances, and a feast of gourmet treats in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

The evening brought more entertainment in Armagh City as the Shambles Yard came alive with Cider in the City, an open-air celebration of local food, drink, and music. Visitors sampled a wide range of craft ciders, beers, and spirits, enjoyed artisan street food, and enjoyed live performances from The 4AM Club, Matty Rea, Fiddle Me Silly, and Kooskoos.

With record attendance and glowing feedback from visitors and vendors alike, the Armagh Food and Cider Weekend continues to cement its place as a flagship event in Northern Ireland’s cultural and culinary calendar.
