
It’s time to celebrate the borough’s top sporting talent at the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) Senior Sports Awards 2026.
Organised by ABC Sports Forum, in partnership with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, these awards recognise the elite sportspeople who have excelled in their sport and acknowledge the outstanding contribution of coaches and volunteers who have helped build on the borough’s reputation for sporting excellence.
Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Jessica Johnston said: “I am delighted to officially launch the 2026 Senior Sports Awards. Sport plays a vital role in our community, bringing people together and inspiring future generations. These awards celebrate and showcase the incredible talent and commitment we have across our borough. I would encourage everyone to get involved and nominate those who make a real difference in local sport.”
Chairman of ABC Sports Forum, Cathal O’Neill welcomed the new headline sponsorship from McKvr Sports, saying: “We are thrilled to welcome local sports business McKvr as our new headline sponsor. I want to sincerely thank them for their support in helping to celebrate the achievements of our borough’s individuals, teams and clubs. We look forward to working in partnership to make the Senior Sports Awards a night to remember.”

Nominations are open for 8 award categories, including Sports Person/Team with a Disability, Sportswoman of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Senior Team of the Year, Senior Coach of the Year, Service to Sport, Volunteer of the Year and Club of the Year.
To qualify, nominees should compete at county/regional level or above for achievements between 1 January and 31 December 2025 and must be aged 18 years or above at the time of competition.
Online nominations will close at 12noon on Friday 16 January 2026. The shortlisted nominees will be announced prior to the awards ceremony, which takes please on Friday 27 March at Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre.
