Bike Week 2022 is on its way! If you live in borough, why not leave the car at home and take the bike from 6th-12th June. Better still – enjoy the borough’s ‘Black Paths’ routes, which link to all large employers and industrial estates across the area!
Craigavon’s active travel network – designed and built in the 1960s – is better known locally as the ‘Black Paths’.
This ‘Black Paths’ project delivered by Cycul (funded by the DfI’s Road Safety (Safe Travel) Grant Scheme) – aims to help cyclists, wheelers, walkers, residents, newcomers and visitors understand, navigate and use this unique network more effectively – and connect the 3 main functions of Craigavon – community, leisure and commerce.
Throughout Bike Week (6th-12th June 2022) – the ‘Black Paths’ project has organised a host of fantastic events to get people out and about on their bikes and enjoying the unique pathways. From cycle skills sessions to pump track sessions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Full details can be found at www.getactiveabc.com

With maps, which have been designed by Cycul in partnership with Council, showcasing routes that will help you explore the Black Paths – you can use the Strava app on your phone or upload the GPX file to a navigation device for a fun-filled bike ride.
