Expressions of Interest in Key Service Areas

As the covid-19 pandemic begins to impact on everyone’s daily lives, our role as public servants has never been more important. We have been so impressed and humbled by the attitude of our staff during these uncertain times, and we are proud that you have stepped up to face some extremely challenging situations.

As we move further into the crisis, things will undoubtedly become more uncertain as colleagues become unwell or have to self-isolate for other reasons.

You will have seen various emails asking for volunteers to help keep essential council services running smoothly. At this time, while we are still able to cope, the uncertainty means that we must prepare for all eventualities. It is for this reason, and with the full support of trade unions, that we are asking all staff to complete the online form below asking for expressions of interest across a variety of key services. While we hope that you and your families stay well and that we will not need to redeploy staff, it appears that there will come a point where this will be necessary.

There may be a need to ask you to work from home if possible in your current role if you have a skill that would be required in the event of a frontline service reaching a critical point.

Maybe you’ve worked in another department and know it very well, or perhaps you’d just like to try it out for a while, or maybe you have a whole set of skills from a previous job before you joined council. Whatever the reason, we want to know about it!

If you would be interested in assisting the Council in the delivery of these essential services please complete this form below or register your interest with any of the HR offices:
