Farming and Food Photo Competition Gallery 2021

Farming is truly at the heart of our borough, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and what a fantastic response to our first Farming and Food Photo Competition 2021. Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry.

The winners have been announced and we are delighted to share the winning entries with you along with a number of other fantastic shots from around the Borough.

Farming Generations and Family – Winner Celine Magill.  This photograph was taken of the children in a field of rye grass at home.

Farming Innovation – Winner Damian McConville.  This photograph was taken at sunset of maize crop under plastic which acts like a greenhouse warming the soil and retaining moisture.

Food Production – Winner Helen Gilpin – This photograph was taken during pumpkin harvest season in Oct 2020 in Richhill.

Landscapes – Winner Barry McQueen – This aerial photograph captures the first cut of silage at Derrycrew near Loughgall.

Local Food – Winner Emma Liggett – This is a photo of rescued battery hens who now have the freedom to roam the field and produce delicious eggs.

Livestock – Winner Jonathan Sterritt – This photograph captures the cattle cooling down in the River Bann outside Katesbridge

Machinery – Winner Stephanie Megaw – This photograph captures two Claas Lexion combines, combining barley in Poyntzpass.

Young Photographer – Winner Annie Kennedy – This photograph was taken on the farm as the sun was setting at Tassagh.
