Looking for a fun, free and feel-good day out for the whole family? Then pop Saturday 13 September in your diary because Culture in the Park is coming to Lurgan Park – and you won’t want to miss it!
This free event runs from 1pm to 6pm and is all about celebrating the rich mix of cultures and communities that make our borough such a special place to live.
One of the highlights this year is the introduction of community performers to the main stage – giving you the chance to cheer on friends, neighbours and emerging local talent!
Among those performing are Strings and Sings, a Banbridge-based vocal, guitar and ukulele group known for their rich harmonies and joyful performances. Since forming in 2019, the group has entertained audiences across Northern Ireland at care homes, charity events, festivals and more.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be taking part in Culture in the Park,” said Sandra from Strings and Sings. “It’s such a wonderful opportunity to come together with people from all backgrounds, share music, and celebrate the joy that connects us all.”
Other community performers on the day include pupils from St Ronan’s College, Markethill Ulster-Scots Highland Dancers, and Co. Armagh Junior Drum Majors.
You’ll also find Ravara Pipe Band, The Kilted Dance Company, Trim The Velvet Irish Dancers, Chinese Culture & Dance NI, Dontham Indian Dancers, and Magwere – promising a vibrant mix of live music and dance from across the globe.
Expect everything from international food stalls, interactive workshops, family crafts, and feel-good entertainment to activities for all ages.
“Culture in the Park is a wonderful chance to come together, celebrate the diversity of our community, and enjoy a great day out in beautiful Lurgan Park,” said the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Stephen Moutray.
“From local performers to cultural showcases, there’s something for everyone – and we’d love to see as many people there as possible!”
So grab your friends, pack a picnic blanket, and come along to soak up the atmosphere, support local talent, and experience cultures from around the world – all in one afternoon!
See you there!
This event is delivered by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Community Development Department and is funded by T:BUC under the District Council Good Relations Programme.
