Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Belfast Wang Yanhua, Mark Wilson, Bridge PS Teachers Lauren Hamilton (Head of Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1) and Theresa McKay (Music Coordinator), Dolores Donnelly (ABC Council) and pupils Izzy, Jacob, Daniel and Emma.

Thirty‑nine primary schools across the borough are currently taking part in a lively Multicultural Music and Dance workshop, giving pupils the chance to explore music and movement from cultures around the world.

Bridge Integrated Primary School recently enjoyed the workshop and also had the privilege of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Belfast, Wang Yanhua coming along to take part!

The one‑day sessions are bringing together an exciting mix of music and dance from around the world. From Irish and Ulster‑Scots jigs and reels to African drumming, Chinese and Indian dance, samba rhythms and Middle Eastern sounds, pupils are being treated to a truly global experience!

One of the highlights for the pupils will be seeing how different cultures can connect – with Irish and Ulster Scots music and dance performed together, international dances set to local music, and rhythms from Africa and Latin America bringing everything together.

The workshops are fun, energetic and interactive, giving pupils the chance to learn about different cultures while enjoying music and dance together.

The programme has been a big hit so far with schools and pupils alike, celebrating creativity, diversity and shared traditions in an exciting and memorable way.
