In conjunction with Dromore Linen Festival, join us for a fascinating cultural and historical exploration of ‘Dromore Linen: Past, Present and Future’ at The Bowling Pavilion, Dromore Community Centre on Thursday 18 September (7pm).
During this illustrated talk, milliner and guest speaker Kerry Freud will bring you on a journey of local linen – a fabric that once clothed empires, built towns, and shaped the cultural identity of Northern Ireland.
Kerry will explore the rich history of linen production, with a special focus on Dromore, a town deeply rooted in the legacy of flax, weaving, and stitching. As the traces of this once-great industry fade, Kerry will invite you to consider what linen means today and how reconnecting with this legacy can help regenerate not only local skills and stories, but also the land itself.
No booking required for this event. Everyone welcome!
