Artisan food entrepreneurs will be licking their lips in anticipation ahead of ‘The Future of Food’, a delightfully delicious event dished up as part of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Enterprise Week 2019.
Taking place on Thursday 21 November 2019 from 11.30am – 2.00pm in the atmospheric surroundings of the Hayloft in Palace Demesne, Armagh. This free event will see a platter of well-known local food experts serve up their expertise and provide an appetising insight into the future trends in the food industry.
Chaired by Wendy Austin, presenter of BBC Radio Ulster’s Inside Business and featuring Peter Hannan from Hannan Meats, chef Paula McIntyre MBE, Brian Irwin from Irwins Bakery, and Ronan McClaughlin, development chef with Linden Foods, the event is open to all potential start-ups and existing businesses in the borough looking to expand.
The event, which also provides a delicious lunch of finest local produce, will offer the chance for attendees to ask the expert panel questions and provide a networking opportunity with fellow participants. Companies are also invited to bring a pop up display to showcase their business.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Mealla Campbell, commented, “Our borough is home to a wealth of high quality food and drink as well as world-renowned products with protected status. The Food Heartland and events like this during Enterprise Week, demonstrate that as a council, we are committed to helping food based businesses expand. We are delighted to host such an experienced panel to inspire others and also look to the future to help artisan producers prepare for upcoming trends in the industry.
This is one of many events in a week-long programme providing an excellent opportunity for networking, so I would encourage all local businesses and entrepreneurs to come along and be part of Enterprise Week 2019.”
Sponsored by SONI, Enterprise Week will run from 18 to 22 November and will see a total of 17 free events take place across the borough. Aimed at all aspects of the business community it will feature a range of inspirational and informative events, demonstrating the council’s commitment to nurturing and developing the local economy.
Local enterprise agencies, including CIDO Ltd, Banbridge District Enterprise Ltd, Mayfair Business Centre, Armagh Business Centre and Brownlow Ltd will be hosting drop-in clinics and offering advice and guidance on programmes which help turn business ideas into reality.
