This July, prepare to embrace all things stateside as Portadown People’s Park celebrates Independence Day 2016!

On Saturday 2nd July, the ever popular park will be transformed into a free stars and stripes extravaganza with a host of fun-filled activities to keep everyone entertained!

Organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, festivities will kick off from 12noon – 5pm with a live American Football game featuring the terrific Craigavon Cowboys taking on tough opponents South Kildare Soldiers.

Up at the amphitheatre you can get your groove on with spectacular performances by Cash Returns, RJ Woolsey tribute acts, Wookalily and much more!

Popping up around the park will be everyone’s favourite princesses and superheroes including Frozen’s very own Elsa and Anna, crime fighting Batman plus a whole host of friends! Children will also delight at the mini fairground with t-cups, swing chairs, a mirror maze, Kentucky derby with free prizes and a range of inflatables, face painting, arts and crafts including balloon modelling to make it a memorable afternoon!

For some family fun why not check out the American sports taster sessions where you can try out a range of popular sports from across the pond including American football, a Baseball batting cage, Basketball and more if you have the energy!

Phew! After all that fun, you’re sure to have worked up an appetite! Pop over to the many American food traders where you can buy some authentic USA inspired cuisine including hot dogs, chicken wings, cookies and much more! Dollars are not accepted but £sterling is!!
