As part of his tour of Northern Ireland, The Prince of Wales visited the Palace Demesne, Armagh on Wednesday 22 May and was greeted by Ulster and Ireland rugby star Rory Best OBE and Kieran McGeeney Manager of Armagh GAA Senior Football team.
Pupils from St Patrick’s Grammar School, Armagh and The Royal School, Armagh showcased their magnificent Gaelic Football and Rugby skills during a game of two halves for His Royal Highness.
His Royal Highness then met with representatives from a range of local sporting organisations including Armagh GAA & Armagh RFC accompanied by their governing bodies Ulster GAA and Ulster Rugby. HRH was updated on plans to develop a shared multi-sport facility as part of the visionary Armagh Leisure Village project.
Local cultural organisations were also in attendance including Home of the Penalty Kick in Milford, the John Hewitt Summer School and Armagh Observatory and Planetarium.
