Reopening of retail businesses update

Important public information regarding the reopening on retail businesses on Monday 8th June 2020

Following the announcement by the NI Executive that subject to the control of the coronavirus transmission rate, certain outdoor non-food retail businesses are allowed to open from Monday 8 June 2020. The Executive have confirmed that the following businesses may reopen:-

Retailers of new and used cars
Retailers of light motor vehicles, lorries and trailers
Retailers of caravans or motorhomes
Retailers of agricultural or other large machinery

The following retail businesses with lower customer density and direct street access or direct access within a retail park may also reopen:

Retail of Electrical Household Appliances
Retail sale of Computers, Peripheral Units and Software but excluding the retail of video games
Retail sale of Audio and Video Equipment
Retail of Telecommunications Equipment
Retail of Household Furniture and Lighting & other Household Articles
Retailers of Carpets, Rugs, Curtains, Wall & Floor Coverings

Additional announcements regarding the reopening of other types of retail businesses such as fashion shops etc will follow from the NI Executive.  In advance of these further announcements we would encourage retailers to prepare their premises to ensure they meet the required standards for safe reopening.
