Are you planning a clear out or doing some DIY this Bank Holiday Monday? If so, don’t forget you can recycle your waste at one of the borough’s household recycling centres.
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Fairgreen or Newline Household Recycling Centres will be operating from 9am to 3.45pm on Monday 27 August, returning to their regular opening hours from Tuesday.
Armagh Recycling Centre is also operating slightly different hours on the Bank Holiday. It will be open 9am to 8pm with the last admission at 7.45pm. The other three recycling centres in Armagh will be closed on Monday as usual and all recycling centres in Banbridge are open normal hours.
Householders can use the centre free of charge for the disposal of bulky items and for recycling. A vast number of materials are accepted including timber, garden waste, hard plastic, metal, car and household batteries, paint, engine oil, cooking oil, textiles, rubble, fluorescent tubes and electrical items as well as more commonplace materials such as glass bottles, paper, plastic bottles, cardboard and metal cans.
To make sure your visit is even easier separate your waste into different types before you go and use the clearly marked recycling containers wherever possible.
In order to give people time to dispose of materials safely and into the correct containers these times are the last permitted entry. The sites will close 15 minutes later.
