Looking for a new start for your business in 2018 – something different and affordable without the hassle of start-up costs, rents and rates etc. then Lurgan Market can help!

The Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council run market offers a fun and vibrant setting where you can meet many new people and introduce them to your goods and services.

“Markets can be a quick way to become your own boss and turn a good idea into a very successful business with little initial investment and in a reasonably short time. Council markets are always looking for new traders to add to our already diverse list of traders. Vibrant and new traders are essential to the success of any market, setting up and selling items at the right price, talking to customers enhancing their shopping experience and encouraging return visits regardless of the weather” comments Lord Mayor, Alderman Gareth Wilson.

Council welcome two types of traders; permanent or casual. You can apply to become a permanent trader who pays in advance; trades on a weekly basis, receives credit when on holiday or sick and can benefit from any seasonal or special offers. Alternatively, you can apply to become a casual trader, booking weekly under a pay as you go arrangement. Casual traders are not guaranteed a stall every week, pitches are allocated on a first come, first served basis and they are unable to avail of special offers.

Council offer two forms of trading; vehicle or stall. Traders have a choice of trading from their own vehicle or from a pre-set up market stall – subject to terms and conditions.

To help new traders to become established, permanent weekly traders who sign up to trade for four consecutive days, i.e. every Thursday for four weeks, can receive the next consecutive four Thursdays free.

Each trader must provide valid insurance and identification prior to trading along with a completed application form. If you would interested in applying to become a trader visit log on to www.armaghbanbridgecraigavon.gov.uk/resident/markets.
