Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Gareth Wilson has hosted the members of Mullabrack Community Partnership at the Palace for a special Valentines Night reception.
The Lord Mayor visited the group at Christmas when they hosted their annual dinner and was impressed with the friendship and fellowship that was evident amongst the group and he invited them all to Armagh.
Alderman Wilson said. “Mullabrack Community Partnership are providing a very important service in the community, giving people in the area somewhere to meet and take forward initiatives. Elizabeth Andrews and her team do such great work and I wanted to pay tribute to that work and dedication.”
He added, “It was great to have Shiela Smyth and her Change Makers singers take part on the evening, a group of men and women who are all recovering from addiction and use signing as a focus to help stay on the road to recovery. They performed a number of songs on the evening and also gave insights into their lives living now free from addiction. I know that the members of the Mullabrack group found them all so inspiring.”
He concluded, “I want to wish Mullabrack Community Partnership every success for 2018 and I thank them sincerely for their donations on the night both to the Air Ambulance and to the Change Makers, it was so generous of them all.”
