Go batty at Lurgan Park!

Discover the fascinating world of bats with a special ‘Bat Walk and Talk’ around Lurgan Park on Friday 24th August at 8pm hosted by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

Come along and enjoy a cuppa at this family friendly event, taking in a short slide show about bats and their habitat then as the light fades join the Conversation team on a tour of the park.  Using specially designed detectors go in search of these intriguing flying mammals as the equipment picks up the sound of the bats communicating with each other.

The team will be on hand to give an informative talk on local bat species, where they live, what they eat, how long they live for as well as the threats to their survival and much, much more.

Also hoping to get a glimpse of these amazing creatures will be the BBC Northern Ireland’s True North film crew who will be tagging along with the group recording some footage for inclusion in the next series.

This is a family event suitable for children aged 7 years and over and costs are £4 per adult, £2 per child or a family of four, £10.  Booking is essential, to avoid disappointment call 07766 740427.
