Cycling fans of all ages can soon show off their pedal power as Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council offer up the chance for the whole family to get in the saddle on Saturday 18 June at 2pm with the Gran Piccolo.
Hosted by Craigavon Watersports Centre, Gran Piccolo is fantastically fun and friendly led ride around Craigavon City Park. The circuit offers up the choice of a 5km, 10km or for the very energetic, a 15km course. With its tarmac cycle paths around the lakes free from road traffic, the city park is the ideal location for those new to riding in large groups.
The afternoon also dishes up a delicious BBQ and refreshments plus the opportunity to enjoy other cycling activities and entrance into a free prize draw with some wonderful cycling related prizes.
Cost to take part in the Gran Piccolo is £5 per adult and £3 per child which includes BBQ on completion and entry into the prize draw. Booking can be made online at www.craigavonactivity.org or by contacting Craigavon Watersports Centre on 028 3834 2669.
All cyclists should provide their own bike and helmet however a limited number of bikes are available to hire from Craigavon Watersports Centre on a first come first served basis. Hire costs are £3.00 per bike with a deposit of either a driving license or passport which will be returned at the end of the event when the bike is returned in good working order.
