Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Julie Flaherty with Niamh Doyle, Christian Smyth, Aoibhinn Connelly and Rebecca Smyth at the Easter Egg Trail in Portadown People's Park.

Hundreds of little ones hopped down to Portadown People’s Park last week to go ‘eggs-ploring’ for some yummy chocolate treats at the Lord Mayor’s ‘egg-citing’ Easter Egg Trail!

Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of activities including face painting, inflatable fun, bushcraft, arts and crafts and of course the fabulous Easter egg trail.

All proceeds from the afternoon will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity – the Downs Syndrome Association NI.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Julie Flaherty, commented: “I am delighted to have hosted this exciting event to celebrate the beginning of the Easter break for all your special children. I have dedicated my term as Lord Mayor to celebrating children and young people borough wide, and as this was one of my last events as Lord Mayor, I wanted to celebrate the end of my term the same way I began – having fun with the young ones!”

Easter eggs at the event were kindly donated by the Lord Mayor’s Office plus Farrans Construction as part of their South Lake Leisure Centre community engagement initiative.
