Crowds buzzing at Oxford Island’s ‘Bee Curious’ event!

Over a 1,600 people buzzed around Oxford Island at the weekend at Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s fun-filled Bee Curious event!

The crowds descended on Lough Neagh Discovery Centre to find out more about pollinating insects and the magnificent work they do in the world as well as checking out Celebrity Chef Jenny Bristow who was cooking up some delicious treats!

The fun didn’t end there – with arts and crafts activities, face painting, a walk-a-bout bee, flower arranging workshops, quizzes, willow weaving and stalls selling locally grown and produced fruits, vegetables, chutney, oils and native plants and flowers there really was something for everyone!

Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Garath Keating, comments “I’m delighted to see so many people attend this excellent event and learn more about these wonderful creatures and how they help us in our everyday life.  There was so much to see and do – it was a great day out for everyone!
