While Santa and the elves are busy in the North Pole checking naughty and nice lists, sorting toys, filling sacks and getting the reindeers ready for the long journey they must make on Christmas Eve, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is spreading some early festive cheer by inviting you to enter its ‘12 Gifts of Christmas’ competition.
With a sleigh packed of cracker prizes up for grabs, families across the borough could be treated to a stocking full of unique magical festive experiences and gifts in the lead up to Christmas Day.
Be in with a chance to take your family to see the Cinderella pantomime in The Market Place Theatre in Armagh or experience Santa’s Magical Winter Solstice Christmas at Navan Centre and Fort. Enjoy an exhilarating snow-tubing experience with Santa at Craigavon Golf Ski Centre or some gravity defying fun at the new indoor trampoline park in Banbridge.
Have an outer space experience at Armagh Planetarium where you can journey back more than 2000 years to Bethlehem for a modern day re-telling of the Christmas story in the ‘Mystery of the Christmas Star’ digital theatre show.
With a £100 voucher for Rushmere Shopping Centre also part of the prize pot, you could get started on your Christmas shopping list or treat yourself to a special gift. Foodies are also in for a mouth-watering treat as there’s a luxury hamper from the Yellow Door (Portadown) and vouchers for a delectable dining experience at The Moody Boar (Armagh).
Topping all of these is the grand prize of a £500 shopping spree in the borough, helping one lucky winner pay for the cost of Christmas.
Speaking about the competition, Lord Mayor Garath Keating said: “With gift-giving a time-honoured tradition at Christmas, we hope to spread some festive joy by running our biggest competition in the borough to date. This element of our borough-wide Christmas campaign is sure to be a huge success thanks to the support of local businesses that have been extremely generous in sponsoring a great selection of prizes. Plus, our own facilities have provided family passes for some great festive experiences. So if you fancy your chances at winning a special Christmas treat, make sure you get your entry in on time.”
One lucky winner will be announced each day from 1 to 12 December, with the grand prize winner announced on 12 December.
The £500 shopping spree prize has been kindly sponsored by Cleary Contracting Ltd – the company awarded the contract to refurbish the Civic Building in Banbridge.
