Ever wanted to start your own business? Perhaps you’ve already taken the first steps and are wondering what next? Look no further than the FE McWilliam Gallery and Studio which is hosting an evening with some of the Borough’s most successful entrepreneurs.
They’ll be on hand to share the experiences and lessons learned along the way. Enterprise NI and the Federation of Small Business will also be available to offer practical help and advice.
This informal evening is an opportunity to tap into the collective wisdom of those who have enjoyed (and endured!) the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur – so come prepared to quiz our entrepreneurs; no question too big or small!
Are you at school or college and unsure about future career choices? Or maybe you’re a budding young entrepreneur with a flair for business? ‘A Night of Ambition’ hosted by YouthBank Banbridge could be the event for you during Enterprise Week.
This is an interactive evening for young people to engage with Council representatives and traders. We’ll be debating how we can make the Borough the most enterprising place in Northern Ireland and explore if being an entrepreneur is for you. We want to hear your views, so lively discussion is guaranteed, along with invaluable advice and support. This could be the night your ambitions take off.
The Mayes Hall will play host to this exciting business support event – a one-stop advice shop for businesses and entrepreneurs. A wide group of business leaders and support providers will be on hand to provide advice on a range of relevant topics including exporting, energy costs, funding and cross-border issues. The format is modelled on speed dating, so when you hear the bell ring, simply move from one adviser to the next and take advantage of the comprehensive and expert business advice available to you under one roof.
How can Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon become a centre of excellence for entrepreneurship, innovation and investment?
This will be the question asked of our guest speakers and audience at this keynote event hosted by Jamie Delargy. A drinks reception will start proceedings before the Lord Mayor welcomes guest speakers and the audience to consider how we move forward as a thriving economy under the themes of ‘Inspire, Innovate and Invest’.
Industry leaders from the Borough who have embraced the ‘Three I’s’ to develop and grow, will deliver unique insights into the challenges and opportunities they have encountered as local businesses. This will be followed by a panel session where guest speakers and the audience will be encouraged to participate in the discussion.
The evening will close with a special musical performance.
On Friday morning, attention will turn to Innovation when businesses will have the opportunity to network over breakfast and learn how to benefit from innovation and change. Some of our local innovators will describe how they have embraced change within their businesses. This will be followed by the launch of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Digital Economy Strategy.
Guests will have a chance to top up their tea and take part in a Q & A session with the panel of speakers.
There will be a buzz about Banbridge town on the afternoon of Saturday 16th November as YouthBank Banbridge sets up shop with its Teenage Market.
It’s one thing to have a business idea, but quite another to put it into practice and generate funding for local good causes! Young people across the Borough will be putting their commercial skills to the test by organising a pop-up market with an array of sights and stalls that would put Lord Sugar’s apprentices to shame!
Come along for a chance to support our emerging entrepreneurs and pick up some unique locally made Christmas stocking fillers at the same time.
