The now annual Brownlow Festival, which featured a week long programme of activities, came to an end last Saturday with a free family event at Craigavon Lakes!
Over 1000 people enjoyed taking part in the events throughout the week including a fantastic fun day at Brownlow Hub, inventive art exhibition, relaxing picnic at Moyraverty Centre, nostalgic vintage tea dance, art exhibition and a tasty cookery demonstration!
The celebration day at the Lakes saw families getting involved in a tug of war, dragon boat race, archery, climbing wall, photo booth, BBQ and music as well as viewing an exciting demonstration of Parkour by JumpNI.
The festival was organised by Brownlow Festival Committee, and a range of statutory organisations including Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, has been funded by a grant from Awards for All through the Big Lottery Fund.
Attending was Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Councillor Garath Keating, who comments: “What a brilliant festival!! Well done to all involved in the organisation – there really was something for everyone and it was the perfect way to end the summer holidays and celebrate the wonderful area that is Brownlow!”
Chairman of the Festival Committee, Mr Gerry McIlroy, stated “The Annual festival is going from strength to strength! Thanks to all the volunteers and agencies who worked together in order to deliver a first class week of activities”
