Banbridge to bring iconic festival to a close with fantastic Saint Patrick’s Family Fun Day.

With the 2018 Home of St Patrick Festival in full swing, locals from across the region and visitors from near and far can enjoy the global programme of local and international music, theatre, sport, spoken word and spirituality.

The bumper festival programme once again celebrates the patron saint with an unrivalled calendar of events, promising to be the biggest, best and most-diverse of its kind in Europe.

Closing the eleven-day festival is the Saint Patrick’s Family Day in Banbridge. On March 19th, the town’s Solitude Park will come alive from 2-4pm for two very special hours following a hugely successful event in 2017. The Family Fun Day returns this year with face painters, balloon modellers, large garden games, children’s art workshops, a skittles alley and a climbing tower.

Live music will also take place throughout the afternoon with local favourites the Juke Box Jurors sure to get toes tapping. This fantastic free community event provided by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council will provide a fitting finish to the festival proceedings. Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Gareth Wilson, said, “We are truly bringing St Patrick home with this world class festival programme of inspirational events and experiences. Any who visit this vibrant and welcoming region will enjoy our hospitality and the international standard of culture and entertainment available across the eleven days of celebration in so many interesting locations and areas of outstanding natural beauty.”

Taking in many of the iconic locations, cultural landmarks and sites of historical interest throughout counties Armagh and Down, the full festival programme brings together renowned performers, artists, guest speakers and visionaries from around the world and full details of the schedule can be found at
