Community Support and Good Relations
The council is committed to supporting and developing a vibrant, sustainable community sector by adopting an integrated approach to the delivery of both community support and good relations. Its aim is to encourage, facilitate and develop activities, which promote good community relations and enhance community development for the purpose of improving people’s quality of life.
The broad aims of the Community Support and Good Relations section are to provide information, advice and support to community organisations on a wide range of matters and issues affecting community groups.
Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) aim to make our community safer. PCSPs are statutory bodies established under the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and bring together, in one partnership, the functions and responsibilities of District Policing Partnerships (DPPs) and Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) , building on the most useful and effective aspects of each, while operating in a more streamlined and joined up way. They are funded jointly by the Department of Justice and the Northern Ireland Policing Board.
